Exciting news, Clermont residents! There has been much speculation about whether Whole Foods, Sprouts, or Trader Joe’s would be making their way to Clermont or Minneola. Rumors have circled for quite some time, with some even claiming that the new store might pop up near the Crooked Can in Minneola. But is it true? Well… kind of.
It’s not Whole Foods, and it’s not Trader Joe’s. The winner is (drum roll, please) Sprouts Farmers Market! Yes, you read that right—Sprouts is officially coming to Clermont! No clickbait here, just facts.
According to reports, “The owner of Shoppes at Hammock Ridge has applied for state environmental permits. The Clermont store would be the first Sprouts location in Lake County.”
Sprouts Farmers Market, headquartered in Phoenix, is one of the largest and fastest-growing specialty retailers of fresh, natural, and organic foods in the United States. With a whopping 428 stores across 24 states (including 47 in Florida), Sprouts is set to bring its unique shopping experience to our neighborhood. And that’s not all—Hammock Ridge Commons will also be home to a new Centra Care clinic, as Jamison Commercial has plans to build an urgent care facility nearby.
Stay tuned, because in this blog, we’re breaking down everything you need to know—when the project will be completed, the exact location, top items to buy, and some genius hacks for shopping at Sprouts!
Clermont, located just 30 minutes west of Orlando, is known for its small-town charm and rapidly growing new developments. With billions of dollars’ worth of residential and commercial projects in the works (like the massive Olympus development), it’s no wonder Sprouts has chosen this flourishing area for its next location.
I first heard about this exciting news when one of my clients mentioned the possibility of a Whole Foods opening in Minneola near the Crooked Can Brewery. But after a bit of digging—and even emailing Whole Foods in early 2024—I discovered that wasn’t true. The company confirmed no plans to bring a store to this area.
Sprouts will instead build their new store on Lot 14, located next to the under-construction Staybridge Suites extended-stay hotel on Lot 15. While they haven’t yet submitted a site plan and are still completing the permitting process, the project is estimated to be completed by mid-to-late 2026.
If you’ve never visited a Sprouts Farmers Market, brace yourself—it’s an experience you won’t forget! Think fresh, organic produce, specialty foods, and unbeatable prices. I’ve been shopping at their Dr. Phillips location in Orlando for years, and it’s easily my favorite specialty grocery store. On a recent trip, I grabbed a sample of their flaxseed blueberry muffins…and snuck back for seconds because they were so good!
Each Sprouts location tailors its product selection to match local demand, so while we don’t know exactly what they’ll stock in Clermont, we can expect a mix of delicious, healthy, and organic options.
Here are some of my personal favorites that I highly recommend:
1. Grass-fed Beef – Top quality and so flavorful.
2. Cosmic Bliss Ice Cream – A must-try for dessert lovers.
3. Ice Cream for Bears (Yes, really!)
4. Ice Cream Cones– Perfect for those late-night treats.
5. Alexia Sweet Potato Fries– Crispy, sweet, and delicious.
6. Organic Root Fries– A healthier take on classic fries.
7. Avocado Oil Chips (No Seed Oils) – Clean and crunchy.
8. Sprouts Brand Coconut Rolls – A snack you can’t put down.
9. Organic Buckwheat Pancake Mix – Great for a healthy breakfast.
10. Multigrain Tortilla Chips– Especially when on sale for just $2.25!
Don’t miss these insider tips for getting the best bang for your buck at Sprouts:
1. Look for the Healthy Savings Tags– These show the original price and the current sale price for some serious savings.
2. Ask About Sale Items – If something on sale isn’t on the shelf, ask an associate—they may have more in the back.
3. Visit the Clearance Shelf– At the Dr. Phillips location, this is where I’ve snagged $33 laundry detergent for just $10! Seasonal clearance goodies (think Christmas cookies and candy) are also a steal.
4. Check the “New for You” Table– New products are featured here, and you might just find your next favorite snack.
5. Use the Sprouts Weekly Ad App– Score deals like BOGO or $25 off a $75 order.
6. Bring Your Own Bags– They charge $0.10 per bag, so save yourself some change.
7. Bulk Discounts – If the UPC code says “12 CS,” you can buy 12 and get 10% off your order.
Some other highlights? Their coffee section is awesome—you can grind your own flavored coffee, which is so fresh and fun. And don’t forget to check for baked goods clearance items and manager specials—you’ll always find something delicious.
Sprouts Farmers Market is going to be such a fantastic addition to Clermont, bringing with it a healthy and fresh shopping experience. Whether you’re stocking up on organic staples or hunting for new snacks, Sprouts has something for everyone.
As we wait for construction to finish, you can visit their Dr. Phillips store to get a taste of what’s to come (and maybe grab a few samples, too!).
I hope you’re as excited about Sprouts as I am! Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe to stay updated on this and other amazing developments in Clermont. Until next time, happy shopping!
